TAG Industrial Watch: December 24, 2022
While the future for EVs is bright, replacing gas stations with charging stations presents a challenging problem. However, thanks to the development of e-fuel by the engineers at Porsche, we may be able to avert this infrastructure problem. Created by combining hydrogen with carbon dioxide extracted from the air, e-fuel only emits the same carbon dioxide when burned, making the synthetic fuel carbon neutral. E-fuel’s biggest advantage over EVs is that the fuel can be used in existing cars with combustible engines without any adaptations. Equally as important, gas stations can distribute e-fuel just as easily as gasoline. EVs have already made an impact on the industrial real estate market, and the development of e-fuel could be another game changer and the perfect Christmas gift to muscle car enthusiasts.
