Blazing His Own Trail
When Adam Abushagur was starting his career in Marcus & Millichap’s Dallas-Fort Worth office, he did some rough math and realized there were 30,000 warehouses in Dallas-Fort Worth but not a single Marcus & Millichap team focused on industrial.

“At the time, there were roughly 4,000 apartment complexes in Dallas-Fort Worth, and we had three very successful teams doing just apartments,” noted Abushagur. “The numbers just blew my mind. There was a void in the marketplace. That’s when I decided industrial was the best fit for me.”

Today, Abushagur focuses on the acquisition and disposition of single-tenant and multi-tenant industrial assets in the Dallas-Fort Worth market and currently ranks as Marcus & Millichap’s top industrial sales agent.

“In 2017, Adam founded the TAG Industrial Group and instilled a long-term vision of adding value for his clients by hyper-specializing in a historically unspecialized product type,” said Tim Speck, Marcus & Millichap senior vice president & division manager for the Texas region.

Learning the market
Abushagur established a team with new agents and a fulltime staff consisting of escrow, operations, marketing, research, strategy, analytics and databasing. Since 2017, his team has closed 202 transactions totaling in excess of $720 million in industrial investment properties. In 2021, he was the firm’s top Industrial agent, completing 78 transactions for more than $285 million in combined value.

Taking the time to learn the industrial market from the ground up has allowed Abushagur to become a trusted advisor.

“I’ve got a tenacity for not giving up,” he said. “I take that and bring it to work.”
