Will They or Won’t They?
Market angst continues as the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield falls below 2.90 percent. It seems to be more of the same as investors grappled with shifting indications on U.S./China trade talks and the prospect of whether the Fed may pause its tightening. In the meantime, Fed Chair Powell delivered a bullish assessment of the U.S. economy and the job market ahead of the upcoming jobs report. The question remains, will the Fed continue increasing rates in 2019, or might it pause?
