TAG Industrial Market Watch: November 17, 2018
“Logistics space- going, going, gone. Cross- border air cargo is at the top of air powerhouses Boeing and Airbus’s lists, each planning for roughly 65 percent in new aircraft and a combined 1,240,000 number of new pilots in the next 20 years. This means over a million square feet in new warehouse space will be needed. However, there is just no way this square footage can be added near existing airports.Additional air cargo hubs will need to be developed, providing more opportunities for industrial infrastructure once the wheels are down. Prime areas for these hubs will need runways, labor supply, freeway access, limited passenger volume, etc. Naturally, existing airports will feel the weight lifted in terms of congestion. Industrial logistics space demand shows zero sign of deceleration. Just how much we’ll need is up in the air.“ |
