Mixed Signals In Market Despite Strong Economic Growth

Mixed signals prevail in the market as investors continue to lament over climbing interest rates and disputes with trading partners.  In particular, will the effects of the U.S. – China trade dispute and rising interest rates hurt economic growth and corporate profits?  Lofty expectations for earnings are being tested amid heightened trade tensions and tightening financial conditions.  While concern exist, a new government report showed that the U.S. economy grew at a strong pace of 3.5% last quarter.  U.S. 10-year Treasury yields at 3.08% narrowed from their high of the week some 10 plus basis points.
