Positive Notes in Familiar Themes
Markets were driven by more of the same this week as headline news once again centered on U.S./China trade, whether U.S. economic growth will slow, the health of the global economy and the prospect of rising interest rates. The trade war seemed to ease, U.S. jobless claims came in below estimates and the ECB sounded a cautious note on growth. This all seems to be the norm now. Meanwhile, 10-year Treasury yields have risen from last week’s low of 2.85% to 2.91%.
